Our John Beargrease Room feature two queen beds, are comfortable, clean and affordable accommodations for up to 4 people. This room is Ideal for family or group travel or three adults sharing a room. They are non-smoking and feature amenities that will make your stay more convenient, such as refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. For your safety, rooms feature electronic locks, interior corridors, smoke and fire alarms are provided. John Beargrease Rooms are beautifully appointed with regional décor, and are all comfortable, clean and affordable! NOTE: 2nd & 3rd floors rooms have a private balcony and stairs are required. 1st floor rooms have an obstructed lake view.

“Superb service! We planned a mini vacation before my wife went back to teach at school. Grand Marais was our destination. The location of this hotel is awesome. Walk right across the street to the co-op, which is on the edge of “downtown”. Walk to all the restaurants and shops. Great views of the lake. We ended up in the beargrease wing, which looked pretty darn new. Very spacious and comfortable room. Microwave, refrigerator, wet bar. Bathroom was very bright and clean. We didn’t have any coffee in our room when we arrived, so we called to the front desk, and within 5 minutes we had a knock on the door, and a very cheerful lady handing us coffee packets for the coffee maker.
