Sawtooth Mountain Challenge

Everyone is welcome at the annual Sawtooth Mountain Challenge on October 12, 2019 at the Pincushion Mountain in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Hosted every fall at Pincushion Mountain in Grand Marais, the Sawtooth Mountain Challenge is the North Shore’s first mountain bike race. It has been run for over 25 years and has taken different shapes, but it now functions as the main fundraiser for SCA’s trail maintenance fund. Choose between 3 adult singletrack races – 8, 15, or 22 miles – and/or sign your kids up for the .25 mile or 1 mile race.

Friday
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Check-in at Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais

Saturday
All races will take place at Pincushion Mountain in Grand Marais
9:00 a.m. – Kids Races Start
9:30 a.m. – Adult Races Start
3:00 p.m. – Awards and Prizes at Voyageur Brewing Company

In 2010, the Superior Cycling Association was founded to grow mountain and road biking opportunities in Cook County. Through partnerships with Visit Cook County, the National Forest Service, the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA), Lifetime Fitness, and local businesses, SCA has developed many miles of singletrack, hosted bike races and clinics, and strived to make cycling on the North Shore more accessible, safe, and fun for all ages and abilities.
