His live shows span the breadth of American musical history\, blending the traditional with the new to create an engaging and satisfying sound. \nEric Frost’s love for playing the guitar started at a young age\, but his parents were hesitant to support his interest as they thought it may be a passing fad. However\, his unsupportive elementary school teacher’s comments led them to finally get him his first guitar in fourth grade. Despite initial doubts from his parents and teacher\, Frost went on to prove them wrong and formed a successful band in high school\, playing at showcases and even trying his hand at writing music. Although he put his guitar aside for a while during college\, his passion for music never faded. Today\, Frost continues to play and write music\, inspiring others to pursue their dreams despite any doubts or obstacles they may face.

They are open late on Thursdays\, so grab your date and come down to the winery for music from 6:30-8:30 p.m. \nThis week the music will be by Gordon Thorne. Gordon Thorne picked up a guitar 30 years ago and hasn’t put it down since. The rendezvous is held in conjunction with the Grand Portage Rendezvous Days Celebration Pow Wow\, sponsored by the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (Ojibwe). The annual gathering is their biggest of the year\, a time when Grand Portage comes alive and reflects on its rich heritage. Reenactors from across the country and Canada gather to camp and challenge each other to games and skills from our historic past\, next door to the pow wow at the Grand Portage Historic Rendezvous Encampment.\nView Grand Portage Rendezvous Days \nAbout The Grand Portage National Monument\nThe Grand Portage National Monument is a U.S. national monument located on the North Shore of Lake Superior. This historical place was the center of fur trade activity and the Native America Ojibwe heritage. The monument is surrounded by 710 acres within the boundaries of Grand Portage Ojibwe Indian Reservation and is the location of the annual Rendezvous Days Celebration Pow Wow and Grand Portage Rendezvous. \nAbout The Grand Portage\nThe Grand Portage is an 8.5-mile historic trade route of the French-Canadian voyageurs that passes through waterfalls and rapids that flow into Lake Superior. It became the gateway into rich northern fur-bearing country\, where it connected remote interior outposts to lucrative international markets. In August every year\, the voyageurs would show up and the company owners would come from Europe\, and Grand Portage became a rough and tumble celebration. After the celebration\, the furs were loaded aboard massive voyageur canoes and paddled across the Great Lakes and eventually shipped to Europe where many became hats. In the states\, the voyageurs would carry trade goods up the portage and then paddle 100s of miles back to their outposts. This repeated until beaver was almost extinct. Luckily for the beaver\, the fur hats that their pelts were used went out of fashion. \nNow\, each year on the second weekend of August\, fur trade reenactors descend on Grand Portage\, sent up canvas tents\, haul birchbark canoes around and the weekend becomes a fun family weekend. The local tribe’s powwow also goes on at the same time. \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Grand Portage Rendezvous Days Celebration Pow Wow at the Grand Portage Monument Heritage Center in Grand Portage\, Minnesota. \nTags: Grand Portage Rendezvous Days Celebration Pow Wow\, Grand Portage Rendezvous Days Celebration Powwow\, Minnesota Powwow\, Minnesota Pow Wow \nView Grand Portage Rendezvous Days

\nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Grand Portage Rendezvous Days at the Grand Portage Monument Heritage Center in Grand Portage\, Minnesota on the second weekend of August each year. \nTags: Grand Portage Rendezvous Days\, Grand Portage Rendezvous\, Grand Portage Voyageur Rendezvous\, Minnesota Rendezvous\, Minnesota Voyageur Rendezvous \nView Grand Portage Rendezvous Days Celebration Pow Wow

\n\n\n\nAbout the North Shore Winery\nChuck Corliss and his wife Kim founded the North Shore Winery and the Sawtooth Mountain Cider House in Lutsen\, Minnesota. The winery offers a variety of red\, white\, and rosé wines\, as well as hard ciders made with a local flair. The winery is open to visitors for tastings\, bottles\, or a glass of wine. They also host private events. \nThe idea to build a winery took off when Chuck and Kim were discussing retirement plans and what to do when finished with their “day” jobs. The couple wanted to live in Lutsen so they could ski\, mountain bike\, sail\, and golf full time. Combined with lifelong “research work\,” they thought a winery would be a fun new attraction in Lutsen! \nJeremy and Mary Hanson joined the Corliss’ in 2017 as partners. \nThe winery has grown substantially since its grand opening in 2016 and the Hanson family has been involved since the beginning. With the addition of Jeremy and Mary as partners\, the Winery gained additional leadership engaged in the day-to-day operations of the business so it would continue to provide great customer service and good times its customers have come to enjoy. \nJeremy and Mary have been spending significant time on the North Shore since the 1970s\, first on the Gunflint Trail and since 2004 in Lutsen. They enjoy Northern Minnesota\, starting with BWCA canoe trips in the 70s and family vacations along the North Shore and the Gunflint Trail. They are high school sweethearts (Minneapolis Central!) who have been married for 29 years and have three grown children: Graham\, Ana\, and Maddy. They enjoy being outdoors – in the woods or on the lake; mountain biking\, skiing\, fishing\, hiking\, boating\, spending time with friends and family….and yes\, drinking wine out on the deck! \n202 Ski Hill Road | Lutsen\, MN 55612 | e-Mail: info@northshorewinery.us | Tel: (218) 481-9280\nNorth Shore Winery Website | North Shore Winery Facebook Page

\n\n\n\nAbout the North Shore Winery\nChuck Corliss and his wife Kim founded the North Shore Winery and the Sawtooth Mountain Cider House in Lutsen\, Minnesota.
